Issues that Matter.
“My goal is to be a voice for this community. I am running for the state legislature because I know that our current representation just isn’t listening to us. My professional background is in customer service, and I know that 90% of what makes a good legislator is constituent service. The other 10% - the values we share as a community - are also not being represented in Columbia. As your voice, I will always fight for you, and for what’s right.” -Brandy Tarleton
Education Reform.
Despite increased spending, South Carolina’s education standing continues to hover near the bottom. I believe tax money spent on education should go to local teachers in the classroom, not be wasted on bureaucrats in Columbia. We have many fine teachers and they need to be allowed to do their jobs in a respectful, disciplined, and safe environment.
The legislature needs to do a better job overseeing the ideological curriculum being taught in our schools and state colleges. The government-funded indoctrination of our children must end.
Our Personal Freedoms.
Each of us has a God-given right and obligation to defend our homes, families and property from violent criminals. That’s why I am a strong supporter of the Right to keep and bear arms and I understand the rising threat we face from liberal gun-grabbers.
I will always work to protect our personal freedoms, which are under constant assault. Religious liberty, First and Second Amendment rights, and medical freedom must be fought for by each generation and I am ready to answer the call.
Immigration.
One of the reasons America is a beacon to the world is because of our respect for the rule of law. That respect must begin at the border. I fully supports the President’s efforts to get our border under control and believe that we must provide state and local law enforcement with the resources they need to protect our families from criminal gangs and human traffickers entering our country illegally.
I believe federal immigration officers should be able to do their jobs without being subjected to the violence and harassment that we have seen elsewhere.
Roads.
Despite a massive gas tax increase and having nearly $2 billion in “extra” tax revenues, our roads continue to be in terrible shape, especially here in the Upstate. Predictably, the only solution our politicians in Columbia can agree on seems to be more tax hikes.
I believe roads and infrastructure are not only crucial components of our economy but also a safety issue for our families. Overdevelopment has also seen more roads being paved as our land disappears. Pickens and Greenville have enough problems maintaining the roads we already have without adding new ones. I will work to get them fixed at the most cost-effective means possible.
Economic Growth
I will stand for our conservative values against special interests pushing ESG & DEI. We need a true fiscal conservative in the legislature willing to take on the big corporate lobbies. I will only vote on budgets that will reduce our taxes and ensure our tax dollars are going towards core government functions and not corporate handouts. I will protect our small businesses from overregulation.
Every day in the Easley area, we are living with the consequences of uncontrolled growth and their corresponding infrastructure problems. While this is primarily a local government issue, I will do everything I can as your state representative to reign in the special interest profiting off the destruction of our natural spaces and overdevelopment of our community.
Life.
I am pro-life. I believe that life is precious and that children are a gift from God. In the House, I will not flinch from defending the unborn and I will oppose funding for pro-abortion groups like Planned Parenthood.
The first and most essential right is the right to life. This issue is very personal to me, as I was born as the result of an unwed teen pregnancy. I owe my existence to my mother choosing life. I will always protect the unborn.
Protecting Children and Parental Rights.
I am deeply concerned about protecting children from indoctrination, sexualization, and mutilation. We are seeing the open assault on parental rights across the country. Even in South Carolina, many of our school administrations have been captured by ideological activists pushing CRT, homosexuality, and even trans ideology on our children. This WILL stop. Parents to decide what is right for their children, not a leftist government bureaucrats.
